The Irish John Smith Christmas Tree - 2007
CHRISTMAS TREE AT STATE CAPITOL TO HONOR THE DESCENDENTS OF IRISH JOHN SMITH
Recently, our family was given the honor to decorate a Christmas tree at the State Capitol building in Pierre, South Dakota. It will be among dozens of other trees that will adorn the Capitol building's rotunda.
The theme will revolve around the family's presence in South Dakota, and along with themed Christmas ornaments, lights and other decorations, there will be small picture frames portraying the family through the years.
If any family would like to contribute something to hang on the tree, please let us know. In the meantime, if you click on either the logo (above) or the hyperlink, you can see what other trees looked like in 2006 that lit the Capitol building.
The tree is being decorated on November 17th, and will be open to the public shortly thereafter.
