Griffith Tables - Ireland.

I found the following Griffith Valuation listing for
'McGonigle', but unsure of the dates. It would be no later than 1864 but
could be as early as 1848. It is possible that this list includes
all whose names appeared in this list between these two years. As
you know, the Irish census records prior to 1900 were burned in two different
fires. Consequently, Irish genealogists use 'census substitutes' such as
the Griffith Valuation to look for family. Many of these names will also
appear in the Tithe Applotment Records (Ireland) for 1823-24. This is the
only listing I could find for McGonigles in Killybegs. Usually Griffith's only
shows the head of household and we may be seeing relatives (possibly several
generations) in this listing for McGonigles.

I couldnt begin to tell you how many 'James Ryan' entries I found for County
Tipperary. Perhaps a couple hundred. I even found 6 entries
for 'Bartholomew Ryan', but I don't think Batt would have been listed as he
would have been too young at this time. However, if you are interested in
seeing this list too just let me know.
Terry and I thought James Ryan family may have lived close to the Boney family.

There were no entries for 'James Ryan' in Parish 'Lickfinn'.
Terry and I have not been able to find a 'School Hill' listed for County
Tipperary. It is possible this is an old placename no longer used. I
did find a National School in 'Ballinlonty Townland' in County Tipperary. In
1823 beside the school lived two families: Dennis and Ellen Ryan, and
Daniel Ryan. There are a number of national schools located throughout
Ireland and we think 'School Hill' may refer to one of these schools.
We are still exploring.
