The Newman Club appears to be Roman Catholic Christian organization.  Ruth said she was ‘gawky’ and a tomboy in college.  She had an IQ of 165 and skipped two grades in the Kimball, South Dakota, school, and was always younger than her classmates.  Ruth is the first person shown on your left.  So Young!
