Addie McGonigle Ryan Adelaide (or “Addie”) McGonigle’s resume probably included jobs other than employment with the Big Jo Flour Company. Her sister, Carrie, worked as office manager for the Telephone Company. From time to time Addie was brought in to help. News articles clarify family history. Frank Ryan and Adelaide McGonigle were married at St. James Catholic Church in Belvidere. They were married in 1917. One news article describes Addie’s wedding shower and gift, as well as who organized her shower. The news account for their wedding does not tell us much else. It was interesting to see Frank and Adelaide’s oldest child, Jack, was born at St. Joseph Hospital in Belvidere. This hospital no longer exists, but was near the McGonigle residence. One news article is not about Frank or Adelaide; rather, it is about Frank’s brother, Will Ryan, who died in France during World War I. This article appears to have been submitted by Will’s aunt, Mrs. Patrick Murrin, of Belvidere. Mrs. Patrick Murrin was born Ann Hill, who was Liza Hill Ryan’s sister.
