BORN. To Michael Bilandic, 55, mayor of Chicago, and Heather Morgan
Bilandic, 35: their first child, a son; in Chicago. Name: Michael
Morgan.
Active in the Community. With a broad sphere of
contacts from over 30 years of public service civic and cultural
activities, Heather’s background has been an asset to her career in real
estate. She received a MMB from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School
of Management, and is currently on the boards of numerous Chicago
non-profit institutions.
Heather is a member of the Chicago Board of Realtors and the
Illinois Association of Realtors. In addition, she has received
certification (GCREP-GL) for Green Certified Real Estate Professional
Green Leadership.

Dies at 78
From the NY Times. John KraljicJanuary 17, 2002Michael Bilandic, Daley
Successor in Chicago, Dies at 78 Nichael A. Bilandic, who
became mayor of Chicago after the death of Richard J. Daley, his mentor,
only to see the Daley political machinesputter to a stop under his
leadership, died on Tuesday in Chicago. The cause was a heart rupture,
said Dr. Dan Fintel of Northwestern Memorial Hospital... . He is
survived by his wife and their son,Michael. ."In a written statement,
Bilandic's wife, Heather, described her husband as"a devoted family man,
[who] also loved Chicago and its people, was proud of his Croatian
heritage and grateful for the opportunities which this country provided
to his family. He felt deeply honored to have been able to serve asa
member of the legal profession and to have participated in three
branchesof government during a lifetime of service."
