(The Vail Hiker):
"Backpackers love Cross Creek because the long route offers nearly 20 miles of
scenic terrain without the taxing climbs required by many high-country trails.
This hike, a berry picker's special goes to meandering meadow at 5.5 miles.
The trail's first bridge, with picnic/play rocks surrounding it, makes a good
destination for a hike with kids." The most difficult thing about
this trail was just getting there...roads were dirt with grooves, pits and rocks. While
the hike is geared to family treks...the only children we saw were on the backs
on their parents.
