Frank McGonigle and Catherine Murrin Mcgonigle family plot.  Other members of the family are buried here as well.  All photos taken on February 21, 2011.  Behind this stone is the sister Constance Ryan tombstone.

See Frank McGonigle probate pages.

This family is also related to our family.  This plot is the closest to the McGonigle family plot..   In 1878, Stephen McGonigle married into the crawford clan through his marriage with Mary.

Meehan family plot.  Several photos of the headstones are also contained on these pages

In the next few weeks, we will publish additional stories about the people that you see associated with these cemetery head stones.

These were located next to the Patrick Murrin tombstone.  Theresa could not read but they look like headstones for children.

Meehan family.  This family fits into the Murrin family line:

Heather Morgan (married to former Chicago mayor Michael Bilandic) is Vernile Murrin's step-daughter.
Vernile's parents are Francis Hugh Murrin & Esther Brittian.   Francis Hugh Murrin's parents are Patrick Murrin, Jr. & Anne (Hill) Murrin.   Francis Hugh Murrin's grandparents are Patrick Murrin, Sr. & Margaret Meehan

Brennan family.   This family accompanied the McGonigles to Leadville.  These relatives story can be found at Brennans.

This family connects to the McGonigles by Bridget Murrin, sister to Catherine Murrin McGonigle.

As with a number of stones on this page, these families married into the Mcgonigle or Murrin families.

We haven't talked about this family for several years.  To see how this family fits into ours, click on O'Brien and McGonigles.

Theresa wrote, "I thought I too more photos of the Gallaghers".

The article on the right is interesting about one of the Gallagher family members.   Tim found this while Teresa was sending out these photographs.

Julius P. Hagerty.  Want to see how he is related?  Read below....

James Hagerty, although lived in Alabama and fought for Alabama during the Civil War, had relatives in Belvidere.  His two half-brothers were John and Patrick Murrin.

Another story associated with the Hagertys:  Paul Henry Hagerty, Jr. was born in Belvidere, Illinois, as was his sister Helen. Their father drowned at Beardstown, Illinois on November 4, 1932. He was my grandmother's brother.
Paul Henry Hagerty, Sr. was born near Beardstown, Illinois on May first, 1904. He married Alice Mae Rife on March 21, 1931. Paul Jr. was born on September 3, 1924. Helen Louise Hagerty was born on December 2, 1925.
After Paul Sr. died, Alice moved her family to Kansas. Paul Jr. married Elinor Deaththerage on August 19, 1947 in Ellinwood, Kansas.

Milton Pierre Hagerty died in Springfield Illinois in the 70s. If this is your great grandfather, I can give you lots of history. Milton Pierre was my grandfather's half brother. He was born in Brooklyn New York, son of George Edward Hagerty and Molly Breslin (New Orleans). We never knew what became of Milton, except I heard he was a bartender.
