William Ryan

William Ryan, son of Mr and Mrs Ryan passed away at their home at 11 am Tuesday. He has been in poor health for some years. The funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10 am from St Patrick's church.

Dan Ryan, 96, Dies In Lenox

Dan [iel James] Ryan, 96, retired farmer, died June 21 at the Lenox Rest Home, where he had been a patient four years.  He was a resident of Lenox most of his life.  His wife preceded him in death.

Survivors are three sons, Leo of Omaha, [Francis] Eugene of Raton, new Mexico, Lawrence of Glenwood; two daughters:  Mrs. Luther Sharp (Lela) and Mrs. Franklin Burch (Reva) of Bedford; three sisters, Mrs. Lewis Deming [Margaret] of Dubuque, Miss Agnes Ryan of Gary, Ind., Mrs. Sylvan Wilson [Edna] of Fairfield; six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren.

Rosary was said at the Bender Funeral Home in Lenox at eight p. m., Friday, June 22.

Funeral services were held at St. Patrick's Church in Lenox Saturday July 23 at 9:30 a. m. with Rev. Adam S. Reisz, pastor of the church, officiating.  Burial at Lenox

Mrs. Dan J. Ryan

Majenty May Skinner, daughter of Ayers [Lynn] and Sarah Ellen [Evans] Skinner, was born on a farm near Blockton, Iowa in Taylor County, March 10, 1870 and died at her home in Lenox, Thursday, July 3, 1941 of a heart ailment at the age of 71 years, 3 months and 22 days.  She spent most of her life in Taylor County.

She was married to Dan [iel James] Ryan February 5, 1890.  To them eleven children were born; three passed away in infancy.  Willie died in 1921 and John in 1922.

She is survived by her husband and six children:  [Francis] Eugene Ryan of Raton, New Mexico; Mrs. Lela [Mary] Sharp of Conway, Leo Ryan of Council Bluffs, Mrs. Reva [Grace] Burch of Conway, Daniel [Raymond] Ryan of Lenox and Lawrence Ryan of the home in Lenox; 6 grandchildren: Reldon Ryan of Raton, New Mexico, Roland Burch of Conway, Betty Jo, Joyce and Frances Kay Ryan of Lenox; Margaret Marie Ryan of Casper, Wyo.; two sisters, Mrs. Tom Moore of Beaconsfield and Mrs. Will Miller of Mount Ayr; two brothers, Ike Skinner of Weldona, Colo., and Ernest Skinner of Clearfield.

She had been in failing health for several years but never complained.  She was extremely devoted to her family and house, and was always thoughtful of her neighbors and friends.  She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

One son, Eugene Ryan, was unable to come for the last rites.

The funeral services were conducted in the Barber Funeral Home at Lenox Saturday afternoon by Father Paul Marasco of Saint Patrick's church of Lenox.

Burial was in the Fairview cemetery at Lenox.

Mrs. Reva Burch Dies Suddenly

Funeral services for Mrs. Reva Grace Burch, 63, held Sunday, Oct. 7, were conducted by Rev. Colvin Caughey.  Burial was in Fairview cemetery, Bedford.  Mrs. Burch died at the Clarinda Municipal Hospital on October 3.

Included in the service was the following obituary:

Reva Grace Ryan, daughter of D. [aniel] J. [ames] and Jennie [Majenty May Skinner] Ryan, was born Nov 14, 1898 at Clearfield, Iowa.

In 1921 she was united in marriage to Eugene Franklin Burch.  To this union one son was born.  He is Roland Burch of Lenox, Iowa.

Mrs. Burch was preceded in death by her parents and by three brothers, William, John and Daniel.

She is survived by her husband and son, Roland, and daughter-in-law, Edna, and four grandchildren: Carla, Kim, Peggy and Ronnie.  Also surviving are her sister, Mrs. Lela Sharp of Bedford, and three brothers, Leo Ryan of Omaha, Nebr., [Francis] Eugene Ryan of Raton, New Mexico and Lawrence of Glenwood, Iowa.

She was an active member of the Rebekah Lodge, the Legion Auxiliary and several clubs

Joseph Edward Ryan, 49, Red Wing, Minn., was born to Leo and Elda (Lawrence) Ryan June 21, 1951, at Creston. He died July 16, 2000, at his home.
He graduated from Lenox Community Schools and attended Northwest Missouri State University. He served in the Army National Guard from July 1971 to May 20, 1977.
Mr. Ryan was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Lenox and farmed in the Lenox area. In 1984 he moved to Red Wing, Minn., where he was a production supervisor for Dayco. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Wing.
He was preceded in death by his father and brother Dennis.
Survivors include his children Jennifer, Thomas (wife DeAnna Bee) Ryan and Shaun Ryan all of Red Wing; two grandchildren; his mother Elda Ryan of Lenox; brothers Dan (wife Jean) Red Wing; Robert (wife Susan) Ryan, Lenox, Mike Ryan of Sheridan, Wyo.; sisters Theresa (husband Guy) Hocking of El Lago, Texas, and Mary (husband Jeff) Turley, Omaha, Neb.
Memorial services were held July 19 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial was in Burnside Cemetery.
A memorial service was held July 25 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Lenox, with Father Dan Siepker officiating.
