Friends of the Family - Daniel Rooney (family plot behind John Smith plot)

You will find a short obituary for Daniel Rooney. Also, I am sending
you a picture of his daughter, Maggie Rooney (From "Echoes of the Past",
pg. 34). This one is for an advertisement for the Byrne Meat Market.
Our website does have a picture of the Byrne family as they posed with
the Louis Turgeon family for the same picture. In addition you will
find two census records. One is the South Dakota state census for 1895
which shows they lived beside the John Ryan family. Daniel died in
1896. If you look at the
1900 census you will find that the Rooneys were still living on
the farm. By 1910 they moved to Kimball.
Additional Notes:
IOne of his daughters was born in Independence, Iowa. His wife
was born in Ohio. There is no specification for Daniel's
origin of birth, other than that it was "Ireland". Rooney was of
North Ireland origin, so the Ulster counties, Monaghan or Fermanagh are
potential places associated with his birth.
