Ancestry Line-Up - Ryan and Smith families
Our Smith family line with photos and stories. While we may not have everything identified at this time, this is "light years" where we were just a short three years ago. At that time, we didn't know anything about Irish John's family line, and while we knew his wife's name to be Susan, we didn't know much more than that. The same can be said of Mary Turgeon's family...we really weren't certain of her father's name, and beyond that it was a mystery.

Unlike the Smith family line, there are more "gaps" concerning our family line. A major reason for this is because this family is completely of Irish origin. Back in the early 1900s, during Ireland's great rebellion, the revolutionaries burned the Irish archives in Dublin where many family records were stored. It doesn't make ancestor hunting impossible, but it does force you to look to other sources...and hopefully find clues that can identify one's lineage.
