...I just talked w/my brother Tom,
who's in Iraq, still..... after this very long year +... please
include in prayer intentions at the Family Mass (if you see this in
time).
Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Paul Ryan from Williston, ND is the
eldest son of Lynus S. & Therese Ryan (Custer, SD) - Tom's serving
with the Army Reserves in Iraq for over a year now. He's currently
stationed w/the Marines at Camp Fallujah, Iraq. He says it was 115
degrees today, oofda! They've had no incoming (mortars) recently,
knock on wood. We're hoping to see him back later this summer and
he expects to take some time off before rejoining FEMA. Call him at

Major Leo Albert Ryan, namesake of his paternal grandfather Leo,
is the youngest son of Lynus S. & Therese Ryan - Leo and his North
Dakota Army Guard Unit returned home from Baghdad, Iraq in late
May. He rejoined his wife, Lynnette, & finally continues his home
building & landscape chores while picking up again at his law
practice in Jamestown.
(I'll send a pix of Leo pinning on Tom's LTC insignia during a
Baghdad promotion ceremony, with Tom's boss-Colonel Bobby
Claiborne from Ft. Belvoir looking on. I'll send more pixes of
the guys, just for chuckles in a separate note.)
Captain Kelly Lynn Doherty is a
granddaughter of Lynus S. & Therese Ryan & daughter of Kevin & Jean
Ryan Doherty (Franklin, WI) - Kelly is an Army nurse who served a
year in Iraq. She's also been stationed in Alaska & is currently
serving in Vicenza, Italy. She has a cozy guest room but you'll
need a reservation!
Erin Ryan (Heeter) Knight is a
granddaughter of Lynus S. & Therese Ryan & daughter of Cecilia Ryan
(Phoenix, AZ) - Erin is married to a returned Iraq-Airborne-veteran,
Phil Knight, & they live in AZ. Erin is a school teacher &
champion sports coach. She's currently recovering from a recent
surgery and doing very well.
I won't bore you w/more trivia about all
of us who didn't make the reunion this year, but know that I'm
thinking of you all & hope everyone enjoys the visit.
