Kool Deadwood Nights
Great Cars, Great Nights, Great Music! That is how Kool Deadwood Nights is described by the citizens of Lead-Deadwood. Hundreds of renovated cars...OK some are barely in driving condition...roll into Lead and Deadwood in late August every year. It begins with car registration early in the week, sock hop on the streets of Deadwood Thursday nights, and street concerts Friday and Saturday night. It is said that 10,000 people show up for this event each year, and while I can't confirm that number, it is true that there are thousands crowded on the streets to watch the concerts. This year it was Starship, a 70s band, and Gary Puckett and the Union Gap.
