Our New Orleans Trip 2011.

This is part of a fence in the garden district. A wealthy man's young wife missed the cornfields of Iowa, so he had built for her a fence row with ears of corn.
There aren't too many places where the food is bad. We went to Emeril's place in the garden district. He has several other places in New Orleans.
After our first tour. We had lunch in a "hole in the wall". the burgers were good.
We learned something on this trip. You can be served beer or alcohol if you have an ID that says "21"... even if you look like you're 12 years old. Which reminds me...I was only carded in Artas once when I was in high school.
Hal had to buy the "huge ass beer" from the "Huge Ass Beer" bar on Bourbon Street.
This was our third tour "the New Orleans Ghost Tour". This tour stopped only at places where someone was either "hacked up" or had a grisly death.
This was our final dinner with Hal and Cathy in New Orleans. We were eating outdoors that evening at a place that was also a micro-brewery.
We saw Nick Cage several times in New Orleans. The first time we passed him on the streets in the French Quarter. Here he was fiming for a new movie called "medalion". Click to enlarge.
Last year I bought a hat and this year Elizabeth bought a hat.

At the Aquarium there is a new exhibit. You can go into a room and feed one of hundreds of parakeets and parrots. It is cool. Elizabeth was "in heaven". You can see the birds on her hands.
This was Thursday.
On Friday he was arrested for disorderly conduct. People who know him say he is a nice guy...just an ugly drunk. He became confused as to which house was his...his wife was trying to convince him that his house was three doors down, but Nick was certain that the house in front of him was theres. He did scare the older couple who lived there.
