Tom Fargen, an old farmer from the Bear Creek area was quoted as saying, "There were no trees in Ireland. England had taken all the trees and hauled them away. People that did come-they homesteaded. Probably had a couple of cows and one sow as well as the oxen. There were no horses to start with. I think that one person got here and then a group from the area came."

McNulty/King - origin Ireland. "The McNulty family originated in Ireland. Our ancestor Mary McNulty King was born in Ireland in 1829-1830 to Anthony and Barbara. I do not know when they came to America but we were told during the potato famine. Mary married John King on July 27, 1854 at Raritan, New Jersey. There were McNultys in Bear Creed township, Marble Ridge from 1870 on and some were buried in Loreto."
