The worst part of this
hike was just "getting there". The road was packed gravel, and it was a
"slow 6 miles" to get to the trail head. Once on the trail, it turned out to
be an easy hike. The scenery was great, and about the only time I felt a
little nervous was about 3 miles into the hike when we came upon an open meadow near
the creek. We saw a sheep carcass (wool) and an elk skeleton, both which appeared to
have been relatively new...after that we were just were more wary of the
surrounding area.
