In 1995 the eldest Smith children journeyed west to San Francisco. The
trip included sight seeing in San Francisco, night life at Fisherman's Wharf,
touring Oakland and San Leandro, and finally taking a trip down Highway 1.
Mary Cecile commented that in all the years she lived in the Bay Area, she never
ventured down Highway 1.
