Ben Franklin Institute, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania In the mid '70s, the John Smith family made their way to Chicago to see the Tutenkahum (King Tut) exhibit. During the summer of '77, both Tim and I were living in Vermillion, South Dakota, attending graduate school...so the trip was attended by Barb and "the little girls" (Wendy, Ann and Merida). When the family returned, we heard the story about how the trunk of the automobile was broken into while attending the exhibit. As I recall, a few guys asked dad "where was he coming from." And he responded "South Dakota", upon which they said something like "that's a long way away...". When they returned, the trunk key lock had been punched out...fortunately they had no valuables in the trunk.
