Take a look at the 1939 Yankton Greyhound.  John Smith had an athletic scholarship to Yankton College until a Doctor told him he had an irregular heart beat.  That ended his "sports career".  Mysteriously this irregular heart beat was cured before he took his WWII Army physical.  During the school year, he also worked at the Globe, which was a men's clothing store in downtown Yankton.
