The Holidays

This time of year we think about family and our early Christmas experiences. Christmas and New Years were always exciting events, especially because there were so many of us...which meant lots of toys under the Christmas trees. New Years was also a great time for us, and in most years we spent those in Eureka. However there were a few years we spent New Years either in Kimball or Stickney...still banging the pots and pans.

The "young family" would not remember the interior architecture of the Eureka Craftsman home...yes it was one of the popular bungalow styles of the early 20th century. Click to read one of VJ's Christmas memories.

There has been a reference to New Years Eve at the Smith household. Even as college students we celebrated a good part of the evening with the family. See New years Celebration.
