Mary Rita's Scrapbook

By now many of you have seen Mary Rita's scrapbook. It contains nearly 100 photographs and documents associated with the Ryan family, and in some cases, this collection contained historical information connected with the Murrins, Hills and McGonigles.
Over the next few weeks we will look closer at some of these historical documents, and show how they support some of the theories we had about the Ryan's life in 19th century America. In the meantime, this page is announcing the next wave of entries that we have made to this scrapbook (Jan 9, 09)

Batt Ryan's Farm
There are many letters written by Will Ryan, and once we received his photographs, you realize that he was just barely out of high school when he enlisted in the army.
When I saw his photo for the first time, I wrote Teresa who has been grouping and sending these old photos and documents, the following message:
"Will Ryan looks a lot like Tim and I when we were younger...little spooky, eh?"
Teresa writes back:
"I was actually thinking you & Tim resembled
Will...scary (not that you look like him...all handsome fellows you are..."
